Tasmania’s peak body for racing, Tasracing, implemented a strategic plan to modernise the industry through online ticket sales and automated venue access. Curata provided Magento 2 and WordPress development and maintenance services, hosting, and implemented an automated venue access system with mobile application development.
As the peak body for racing in Tasmania, Tasracing, has always faced the challenged of bringing together numerous racing clubs to share technology, processes and systems. As a part of a digital transformation and modernisation, an online ticket sales platform was created. Tasracing required ongoing support of its site goracingtasmania.com.au.
Another challenge the oganisation faced was the venue access management at several of its larger venues including the Tasmanian Racing Club in Hobart.
Curata was engaged by Tasracing with a maintenance contract to provide Magento 2 development services and Magento hosting. A number of additional tasks were completed that improved functionality of the website and also improved usability for site admins to make content changes and manage the ticket sales.
For the venue access management, Curata undertook an investigation of technology options and subsequently worked with Unique Micro Design (UMD) to specify and roll out the installation of turnstiles at the Hobart club. Integrations were made between Oro CRM, Magento and UMD’s VAST ticketing software. (Subsequently Curata was engaged by UMD to develop an Android BYOD ticket scanning application that was used by several clubs).
